About the Art

While all the words on this site have sprung from the collective genius of Milo, Morris, and their Mom, the art is a product of Tzaddi Gordon’s slightly twisted mind’s eye.

Last year I had been brainstorming things I could do to bring more art & fun into my life. One of the things I wrote was “illustrate things kids say. Collaborative project?” And then along came Erin with these quotes that made me laugh so hard it hurt and sometimes brought really strange images to mind. Just what I needed!

This is my first time playing the role of illustrator. It’s an interesting creative journey (for me at least!). So far all of the drawings are sketched roughly in pencil, then redrawn with black pen. After that I’ve tried a few different things to finish them, including colouring in Photoshop or good old fashioned pencil crayons. I’ve also created one of the drawings out of tiny cut outs of the parts of the character. So it seems I’m still finding my way! I hope to share some of that process here and I hope you’ll enjoy sharing it with me as it develops.
